Bear Dance lodge was completed in March 2005 and is a custom log home with the luxury details throughout. The lodge sits on a private small stocked lake that is part of the Crystal Lakes community just a 10 minute drive to the town of Red Feather Lakes. The lodge sits on a private lot of 5 acres with very few homes in the surrounding area. The landscape is frequented by Deer, Beaver, and Moose. If you are a bird lover, you will love watching the hummingbirds play!
The location of the lodge is 1 hour Northwest of Fort Collins, Colorado in the Red Feather Lakes and Crystal Lakes communities. It is a 2 hour drive from Denver International Airport. Surrounded by the snowcapped Mummy Mountain Range, this area is blessed with beautiful rock outcroppings, Aspen and Evergreens.
The town of Red Feather Lakes is just 3.5 miles from Bear Dance Lodge and it's surrounded by Rock outcroppings and picturesque lakes. It's a cute Mayberrry RFD-type of town with a bingo hall, library, Post office, hardware store, real estate offices, ice cream shop, and two trading posts where you can buy groceries, moccasins & homemade fudge. There is an art and coffee shop that offers wireless internet. There are half dozen restaurants and entertainment such as Saturday Night Karaoke. Oh, there is a small liquor store there as well.
The Crystal Lakes subdivision is 4800 Acres big with 5 stocked lakes and rivers including the 500 acre lake called Crystal Lake. There is a small additional fee paid to the community association to fish any of these lakes, but a Colorado Fishing permit is not required. You can rent a canoe or rowboat from the large lake also.
The area is surrounded by Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest where hunting is allowed certain times of the year. ATV riding is also a popular recreational activity on designated trails with the National Forests.
There are numerous outdoor activities nearby including fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, river rafting, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, canoing, or bird watching.
Bear Dance lodge is equipped with a new Brunswick pool table and tons of board games, Nintendo, videos and DVDs to entertain the troops. The outdoor fire pit is perfect for making S'mores and star gazing at night. Sorry there is no satellite or cable TV to encourage "family bonding time".
The lodge features a gourmet kitchen with slab granite and all the utensils and pots and pans, bread maker, and a KitchenAid mixer. You should have everything you need to make a batch of homemade cookies to a big homestyle turkey dinner or a big barbecue dinner. . The lodge features a floor to ceiling stone wood-burning fireplace to snuggle by.
There are three bedrooms plus a loft and 3.5 bths. There are two master bedrooms each with an in-suite bathroom (one with a jacuzzi tub) a new heavenly bed king in the upper master and a luxurious queen bed in the lower master. The 3rd bedroom has a log Captain's bunk which has a full on the bottom and a twin on top. The loft has a full sized futon couch, a large desk. "...I stayed at Bear Dance in the fall of 2008 and it was one of the most beautiful falls that we have had in Colorado. Naturally, the area surrounding Bear Dance was gorgeous and very serene. I fell in love with this home - everything about it. I loved the deck off the master and spent many hours there. The kitchen was absolutely wonderful and the loft was particularly fun. There was plenty of space and the layout of the house is fantastic. We stayed three nights and didn't want to leave. It is on my top ten list of where to stay in that area...I look forward to staying there many times in the future." Stephanie Garner
"We had a wonderful time while staying there. The house was absolutely beautiful! We met up with another family for a summer vacation and the house was perfect- it provided very comfortable areas to gather as well as proving enough space to spread out and feel like you had a bit of room. We spent hours on the deck- watching the mama moose with her calf graze in the pond and the visiting hummingbirds. My husband enjoyed all of the nearby private fishing and I just loved the whole area! We spent some time driving the town and surrounding area looking for property to purchase as we just fell in love with Colorado!!" Bill & Jeanne Byers
